Can I enter the museum early with a guided tour ticket?

You can enter the museum 60 minutes before the start of the tour.

Can I also buy tickets to events spontaneously at the museum ticket counter?

If the event is not fully booked, any remaining tickets will be available at the ticket counter on the day of the event.

How much earlier do I need to be at the museum before an event starts?

Tours start promptly at the stated time. We recommend that you allow 15 to 30 minutes for check-in and cloakroom procedures.

How much does admission cost for families at the Städel Museum?

Admission is free for children under the age of 12. Children and youths under 18 years of age are admitted free of charge when accompanied by at least one (related) adult with a valid online ticket, to be presented at the ticket counter. Please have a photo ID or student ID ready.

The family ticket is available for a maximum of two adults and at least one minor child (max. 6 children). The price for the family ticket can be found here. Please note that the family ticket is unfortunately not available in our online shop, but only at the ticket office of the Städel Museum. We apologize for any inconvenience.

May I take my child with me on the guided tour?

The content of the guided tours is designed for adult participants. Interested young people can take part in the guided tour and also need a ticket. For this, please contact . The guided tour is not recommended for children up to the age of 12. In this case, the regular family tours are a good choice.
