English is your native tongue and you’d like to talk to others about art in that language? Or you’re a non-native speaker and would be interested in building on your knowledge of English outside your professional environment? With Art Talks we offer a programme of guided tours providing a relaxed atmosphere in which the fine arts will inspire you to perfect your English. The prerequisite is good command of English; no special knowledge is required.

How does the purchase and admission with an online ticket work?

Tickets are available online and at the ticket counter. The tickets are valid for a one-time entry for the date and time stated on the ticket. The online ticket can be printed or scanned from the display of a smartphone as a mobile ticket. We regret that it is not possible to exchange or return an online ticket.

  • The timed ticket entitles you to a one-time entry to the museum for the date and time indicated on the ticket. It is valid for the Städel collection and all special exhibitions. Each ticket will be accepted only once at the admissions control point.
  • Please keep to the time slot you have chosen for your visit.
  • Children under the age of 18 accompanied by at least one adult with a valid online ticket are admitted free of charge.
  • No subsequent returns or refunds are possible.
  • Persons holding a press ID, MuseumsuferCard/-Ticket, voucher, or other special entitlement can reserve a time slot for their visit online and collect their ticket at the museum ticket counter upon presentation of their proof of entitlement. Please have your reservation, proof of entitlement, and a valid photo ID ready to show upon request.

Can I reserve a place on a guided tour, workshop, or other event?

Reservations are not possible. Tickets for the respective events are available online.

Is it possible to gift participation in a guided tour, workshop, or other event?

The tickets that you can purchase online are not personalized. You are welcome to give online tickets as a gift. Tickets for the events are available online.

Can I enter the museum early with a guided tour ticket?

You can enter the museum 60 minutes before the start of the tour.

Can I also buy tickets to events spontaneously at the museum ticket counter?

If the event is not fully booked, any remaining tickets will be available at the ticket counter on the day of the event.

How much earlier do I need to be at the museum before an event starts?

Tours start promptly at the stated time. We recommend that you allow 15 to 30 minutes for check-in and cloakroom procedures.
